Getting
Started:
The first
thing you should do is decide on a place to land your dropship. Where
you drop it is generally going to be where your base is set up (so
it's usually a good idea to explore a bit first). If you're looking
for good defense, one of the corners of your map would protect you
on two sides, however that limits your ability to grow as well. What
you really ought to do is place your dropship right next to a resource
(those grey/black vents) to ensure your cash flow will be fast.
Collecting
Resources: After you've
decided on a place to set up your dropship, you'll need to get your
FTA collectors up and running. Left click
on your dropship while it's highlighted or press x while it's highlighted
to deploy it, then click the FTA collector icon in your construction
menu. Once it's
built, send your collector over to the closest available resource.
If possible, start building another FTA collector to increase the
cash flow even further.
Starting Your
Base: After your
cash flow is well set, it is time to start creating your base. Chose
a turbine from your construction menu. Once it's built, set it down
fairly close to your dropship, on flat terrain. After your first is
built, another two windows will open up with the possibility to make
a blade scout and radar tower. Ignore that for now.
Build another
couple of turbines first. You may want to move your dropship while
doing this because it becomes a little clustered if you keep setting
down things in the same area. After your
turbines are built, chose the radar and build it. After your radar
is finished, start creating some defense turrents. Keep building turrents
(and turbines if electricity runs low) until you see fit to stop.
Moblizing
Your Troops: Once you've
established your base, it'll be time to build up an army with which
you ensure the survival and prosperity of your claim on this sector.
Start out by building a few blade scouts. Once you're satisfied
that you have enough scouts, move up to the fta tanks. Use
them to crush any hostile craft or stuctures in your viscinity. You are now
ready to play as you will and develop your own style.
